It is specially grown and processed from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Richer and more buttery in flavour compared to regular green tea, matcha is celebrated worldwide for its high antioxidant content. It can be enjoyed as a drink or used as a versatile ingredient in recipes. How to Use
Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of hot water (80 C) and whisk to enjoy or simply add to your smoothie or yoghurt. To make a cafe style matcha latte place 1 tsp of matcha powder into a mug with 1 tbsp of boiling water and stir into a paste. Next heat your favourite milk or nut, oat or coconut mylk until steaming. Froth the milk as much as possible with a whisk or milk frother and pour into the matcha paste. If matcha is a bit too earthy for you but you want to enjoy the health benefits such as its high anti-oxidant properties then mix in a natural sweetener such as maple, agave or honey when preparing the milk.
