A short note on why we've increased our free delivery threshold
On 23rd July, we increased the order value required to qualify for free next-day delivery from £50 to £60. It’s never easy making changes like this, and we didn’t take the decision lightly so I wanted to take a moment to explain why.
Our first change since 2020, and still highly competitive
We’ve held our £50 free delivery threshold since 2020, despite rising costs across every part of the business (and life). Even now, at £60, we remain very competitive compared to other retailers offering quality, sustainable, and organic goods.
So you get more, rather than pay more
With delivery and other costs increasing, we faced a choice: raise product prices across the board or adjust the free delivery threshold. We chose the latter because it means you get more of the food and items you’ll actually use, rather than simply paying more for the same basket.
Don’t forget, you still earn 3% back in rewards points on every shop, so the more you get in your basket, the more you save next time.
I appreciate this change may be frustrating - especially if your usual order hovered around the £50 mark. I’m genuinely sorry if it causes inconvenience. I do hope, however, that for most customers the impact is small, and perhaps even a chance to try something new.
If you have any questions or feedback, I’d be happy to hear from you. Just drop me an email at info@thesourcebulkfoods.co.uk.
