FAQs

When will my order arrive?

When ordering you will be asked to select a preferred delivery date. As we use an overnight delivery service with DPD we will pick and pack your order the day before. DPD will determine a 1 hour delivery slot on the day and advise you in the morning by text or email.

You will be able to track the progress of your delivery on your delivery day via DPD's delivery portal via their tracking link. You can also amend delivery details like the delivery date, flag a safe-place to leave the parcel if you are not home, or a local DPD drop-off location.

How will my order be packed?

Individual items will be packed into paper bags sealed with tape. These bags are both compostable and recyclable. Where you have ordered more than one quantity of a specific weight, then where possible, we will aggregate the total weight and pack in one bag. For example, if you order 2x 250g Almonds then the team will pack that as one 500g bag. We can pack individually as ordered but please request we do so in the order notes.

Items will be packed into cardboard boxes, padded with paper padding and sealed with paper tape. So everything you get can be recycled. Definitely no plastic!

 

What is your refund & return policy?

We want all our customers to have a great experience shopping with us but on occassion things will go wrong. If your parcel arrives such that the items are damaged, items spilled, or anything else then let us know so we can discuss a solution with you, which may include resending the items or refunding you.

As we sell food and do not resell returned food, we do not take returns where you have chosen an item and decided you no longer want it or it is not suitable for your needs. Our website is updated regularly with product images, descriptions and key information to ensure you can make informed decisions. Similarly, if after a time from receiving your food it is no longer edible or the same quality due to time and/or inappropriate storage conditions we do not refund in that scenario.

The best approach is always to 1. open your delivery on the day you receive it, 2. decant all your items and store them ideally airtight and in some cases in a cool and dark space (like your pantry)

If there are any issues let us know asap (within 48 hours) on info@thesourcebulkfoods.co.uk or reply to your order confirmation email and we will come back to you promptly.

What if I have allergies?

If you have allergies please note that we pack your online order in our stores. Our teams are trained on handling allergens and cross-contamination risks, and we have approrpiate in-store processes for food handling and hygiene, however the self-service nature of our concept means that there is always a risk of cross-contamination due to customer actions.

As such, if you have severe allergies, or would like to enquire further please email us at info@thesourcebulkfoods.co.uk and we can explain the risks further. Where possible we will amend processes to safely be able to prepare your order, and we can explain how we can do that, so you can make an informed assessment of the associated risks.

On our Checkout page we do have an Allergen Notice and ask that customers with allergies let us know. All orders are treated with the same level of care, however, if we can be of further help a note is useful to alert the team.
